Spring semester is a season of growth for Olivet Institute of Technology, where student enrollment and faculty appointments are among the fastest-rising at Olivet University.

It's likely a result, in part, of the fact that the Institute's majors may have the largest amount of job security, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.

According to a Department of Labor press release regarding the thirty fastest-growing U.S. careers, the fastest-growing occupation in the next eight years will be network systems and data communications analysis. A number of computer technology-related jobs also ranked in the top ten.

"Our students pick their majors for three reasons," said William Wong, director for Olivet Institute of Technology. "One, because they think it's useful in advancing Christian mission and ministry; two, it's cool and interesting subject matter; and three, a promising job market….And, right now, career prospects for students are exceptional."

Olivet Institute of Technology provides a wide range of computer and information technology education, and prepares students for careers in a variety of technology-related fields, including data, research, and computing.

This semester, Olivet Institute of Technology also has enhanced its interdisciplinary program with courses that focus on developing specialized skills and knowledge of information technology with particular application to a specific research field of study or practice.

Renamed Olivet Institute of Technology in 2006, the Institute offers students a variety of degree programs featuring coursework and field experiences that involve intensive study of information and technology.
